What are some of the things I will have to re-learn?

What health issues are specific to trach wearers? Infections, granulomas, etc.

This is from the original site-

"Many people want to know ""how will my life change with a trach."" You might want to check out Jill's Soapbox where she has some detailed articles.

But here is a brief list:

-Taking a shower will have to be re-learned.
-For some learning to swallow or avoiding some of the foods you used to eat all the time because they just don't swallow/go down well with a trach tube.
-For some driving will have to be re-learned, turning of your head with a trach for some will be different.
-Learning how to talk is now different because your have to plug the trach to speak.

Other things
-Being stared at every where you go.
-Realizing things can fly into your trach and go straight to your lungs--other folks germs (example a cough), if outside bugs, in extremely cold air-frost bite to your lungs can occur.
-Swimming for most are out. There are those that invest in the items made for swimming with a trach.
-Working, some continue working, others can't
-Exercising, some can, others can't

What other things can you add?"
